Course Description:
The Spirit of Columbus Half Marathon begins at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing in Dublin, Ohio. The athletes will take their journey down Riverside Drive along the scenic and majestic Scioto River. Along the way, the athletes will pass by Upper Arlington, Grandview and Perry Township arriving in Columbus and a view of the surreal Columbus skyline in the backdrop. Athletes will enjoy a gradual downhill course that is certified with the United States Track and Field Association, which is the sanctioning / governing body for the sport of running and race walking.
2010 Spirit of Columbus Half Marathon & Two Person Relay: 13.1 Miles
- Participants start on the NORTHWESTt side of Tuttle Mall next to the BP Station and I-27 (Start at 7:25 a.m. for Wheelchair Athletes and 7:30 a.m. for all other athletes)
- Proceed EAST the Mall Access Road through the Tuttle Crossing Blvd. intersection onto Brandenton Ave East to Frantz Road.
- Left on Frantz Road heading North to Ring's Road
- Right on Ring's Road heading East to Dublin Road
- Right on Dublin Road heading South to Hayden Run Road
- Left on Hayden Run Road to Riverside Drive
- Right on Riverside Drive heading South towards Griggs Reservoir
- Right into the very northern entrance to Griggs Reservoir heading South
- Exit Right out of Griggs Reservoir at the Marine Police Station entrance / exit (Head south on Riverside Drive)
- Proceed South on Riverside Drive into downtown Columbus finishing at North Bank Park at the intersection of Long Street and Neil Ave.

- Located at Start Line, Finish Line, Relay Exchange (6.55 Miles) and Miles 3, 6, 9 and 12
- Sponges - WIll be available if the race start tempature is greater than 80 degrees or greater - They will be located at miles 8 and 12 on the course plus or minus a few hundred feet from the mile mark. Participants will be notified the week of the race if sponges will be needed and used on the course.
Course Nutrition Information:
- For those participants that are really low on salt / sugar / energy and are having a difficult time in the race, we will provide the following in SMALL quanities for those in need...
- Defizzeled pop
- Vanilla Wafers
- Oreo Cookies
- Chicken Broth (Note: Will be warm)
- Located at Miles 3, 6, 9 and 12
